Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities advances the energy, economic and environmental security of the United States by supporting local actions to reduce petroleum use in transportation.

Supporting local infrastructure

We build and support the infrastructure needed for a strong alternative fuel and alternative vehicle market in Western Pennsylvania.

Member Organizations

We serve the needs of its member organizations through education, business consulting, development of grants, grant writing, and management of Federal and State-funded projects.

US Department of Energy

We serve as the designated regional organization for all U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities initiatives, including project funding.

2015 Odyssey Day

2015 Odyssey Day

The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium, a program of West Virginia University funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), convenes every two years for Odyssey Day, a nationwide event to help educate fleet managers, municipalities, corporations, and others about alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles and the important role these vehicles play in providing solutions to our nation’s growing energy security and environmental issues. Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities is hosts their Odyssey Day every year in October and this years’ event will again be held at the West Hills Center of the Community College of Allegheny College on October 16,2015 and we would like to invite you to attend.  Alternative fueled vehicles will be on display, and experts will be on hand that can answer any questions you might have.  Representatives from user organizations will be making presentations starting at 9:30 AM.   Our Theme is: “20th Anniversary of PRCC”   This years’ agenda will have breakout Sessions on:   Clean Fuel Clean Rivers Hear from a group of speakers about some projects that include using alternative fuels on our rivers.   Liquidfied Natural Gas Listen to a number of speakers who produce and/or use liquidfied natural gas as an alternative fuel   Electric Vehicle/Plug-in Electric Vehicle Panel Listen to vendors and users prospective of Electric and Plug-in Electric Vehicles   CCAC Alternative Fuel Workshop Listen to CCAC instructors talk about some of their alternative fuel classes and vehicles.   Use of Alternative Fuel in small Engines Attend to hear about what alternative fuels are being used in small engines.   Alternative Fuels Panel Panel of speakers will... read more
